We know that menstrual cycle remains at a stop during the nine months of pregnancy. When the egg is ovulated, the usual monthly cycle of menstruation does not occur for this time period. Yet, for some women, it is noticed that they bleed occasionally; sometimes the frequency is high, sometimes it’s low. Whatever the frequency be, bleeding during pregnancy is not something to ignore. But, before you take care of a problem, you need to go to the root of the problem and find out the proper causes. Following are some of the major reasons that cause bleeding during pregnancy.
· Causes Related To Pregnancy: firstly, there is one type of bleeding that occurs as just mere spotting on the same days as period takes place, called implantation bleeding. This is normal bleeding and if you are having such, get yourself tested for pregnancy. One major reasons of bleeding during pregnancy is miscarriage. When there is a miscarriage, there is usually a lot of bleeding which can also become life threatening for the mother. Such bleeding requires immediate attention and no ignorance. When the inside environment of the fetus is not appropriate for the embryo to form, even after ovulation, the embryo will fail to develop. During this period, some women tend to have a blighted ovum and bleeding occurs. There is also another type of problem, ectopic pregnancy. This is a very complicated type of pregnancy. What causes bleeding during this type of pregnancy? The embryo forms outside the uterus. Due to the lack of supply of nutrition, eventually the ovulated egg dies and bleeding occurs. This is the most dangerous form of bleeding during pregnancy.
· Causes Unrelated To Pregnancy: there are some sorts of bleedings that are not directly related to pregnancy but nevertheless may cause bleeding during pregnancy. For example, when a woman has chronic urinary tract infection, she may have bleeding problems during pregnancy. If dehydration occurs, then again this is a cause why bleeding occurs during pregnancy. When a woman is suffering from some kind of trauma during pregnancy, she might have bleeding. If someone is on medical drugs without consulting a doctor, and the drug is of heavy dose, it may cause bleeding during pregnancy. Even if someone has been on prescribed drugs but has recently conceived and is continuing having the drug, she, with her volatile physique may have bleeding during pregnancy. Then again there is the risk of having bleeding during pregnancy if someone is on drugs, takes cocaine, addicted to tobacco or alcohol, has had an accident, had abortion before, trips off stairs, she has high risk of having bleeding during pregnancy which may cause her to lose her child. In some cases, there are women whose fallopian tube tears, ovum splits up, or who have this problem running in the family. All of these can be reasons that cause bleeding during pregnancy.
All of these are the problems of pregnancies that ultimately lead to bleeding, from minor to severe. No matter why the bleeding is occurring and no matter how familiar the reason seem, you need to get yourself tested for the safety of you and the baby (babies). There are often cases when people ignore minor bleeding taking it for granted for most obvious reasons. But such risk is not worth taking. You never know what the reason may be, and this is such a delicate time that even proper treatment sometimes will not be of any use because the proper time has lapsed. Ignoring a small discomfort may cost the life of the mother and/or the baby. Considering all this, apart from regular check-ups during pregnancy, diagnose any type of bleeding or any other abnormality or discomfort during pregnancy. After all, it’s a major and life changing decision, it’s you duty to carry it out properly.
