Planning A Pregnancy

Pregnancy is one of the most important parts of a woman’s life.  The feeling of being a mother and giving birth to a new life can be very exciting as well as adventurous. But the road to pregnancy is not an easy one and a woman has to face many difficulties to achieve it successfully. So planning a pregnancy might sound awkward but it’s a must for a healthy and successful child birth. There are a few tips to follow for planning a pregnancy. Those are listed below:

 

1.      Firstly you should be ready for what you are willing to do. Because pregnancy is a big responsibility and if you are not ready for it both mentally and physically then you should take your time and think about it for a while.

 

2.      You should stop taking any kind of birth control pills. Because these pills can affect the health of your child badly and cause hormonal problems in your body. So stop taking these pills to lessen the chances of abnormality in child birth.

 

3.      Everyone wants their child to be born with a healthy body and have a great life in future. And if you want to ensure giving birth to a healthy child then you should stop all kinds of alcohol consumption. Smoking, drinking and all other drug intake should be abandoned for the better health of the baby. Just remember that only healthy mother can give birth to a healthy child.

 

4.      Eat foods that are healthy. Avoid junk foods like burger, pizzas etc as they use chemicals for the food to be tasty which are not good for a pregnant woman. Low fat meat of chicken or fish and rice are great for a healthy diet.

 

5.      To avoid dehydration and to keep a good blood circulation drink lots of water and fruit juice.

 

6.      As we all know that physical exercise is a must for maintaining a healthy life. It’s a great thing to do before you plan to get pregnant. Because when you exercise your muscles become relaxed and it will help you a lot in decreasing the pain if you want to give child birth naturally. It will also ensure a healthy baby.

 

7.      Do not take stress. Stress can ruin your pregnancy and a recent study has shown that women who are stressed during their pregnancy gave birth to children who were not healthy and had mental illness. 

 

8.      If you are involved in any kind of job be sure to plan your work time. You should make time for yourself while you are pregnant as you will go through many changes in mind and body which will be hard to deal with.

 

9.      You should take folic acid and other multivitamins because they prevent your child from birth-defects and other diseases. Consult with your doctor about this matter.

 

10.  Cancel all your plans to go on a journey or a trip. Because long and distant journey or trip might cause miscarriage. So it is a good thing to stay at home and feel the sweetness of it. But you can go outside for a while to take a walk at the park or just feel the natural breeze.

 

11.  Stop listening to others and do what you are supposed to do. During your plan of pregnancy and during your pregnant period people around you will try to give you a lot of suggestions. Some might be good to follow but some will be big mistakes. Research about these suggestions before doing it just to be sure that it is a good idea.

 

12.  Listen to soothing music, watch humorous movies and get your mind rid of bitterness. The more relaxed you stay increase the fact of giving birth to a more healthy and strong baby. Facing obstacles during pregnancy is common for all women so don’t get irritated and carry on with a fresh mind.

 

13.  If you have had a miscarriage or abortion then it would be a good idea to consult you personal GP and taking time to recover. Never feel upset or worried because sometimes bad things happen for good reasons.

 

14.  Last but not the least is that before you follow any of the points stated above you should talk with your husband about the pregnancy as it should be a both side decision and then plan to visit a gynecologist doctor to tell about your conceiving plans. He/she will guide you further. If you are on some medication mention that to your physician just to be on the safe side.

 

There is not even a single parent who doesn’t want their baby to be happy and healthy. Pregnancy is a great journey towards motherhood. So planning for pregnancy is a great way of ensuring a safe child birth and a healthy baby.
