D&C means dilation and curettage. It is a procedure that is being used for abortion and after a miscarriage. Consulting Your Doctor
Doctors normally give advice of not trying for getting pregnant for at least 3 months after D&C. Immediately after D&C, your body and uterus are very weak and your body needs time and nutrition to get revive. This time is also important to handle your emotional level if you have gone through a miscarriage. Give your uterus a definite time to rebuild itself and make sure you pass at least 3 menstruation cycles. This will be helpful in getting pregnant after D&C.
Tracking The Menstruation Cycles
Track your menstruation cycles by paying attention to them. You can use a day planner for this purpose. This will help you in tracking the periods and give you a more comprehensive look to your time of ovulation. Track the starting and ending time of your periods. This will help in determining the exact length of your menstruation cycle. You should normally try from 8th day till 15th day from the 1st day of your periods. Tracking Basal Body Temperature

You can use any regular thermometer for this purpose though some special and more accurate thermometers are also available but regular one will also be fine. Normally, the body temperature drops before the ovulation starts and suddenly strikes up when your ovulation starts. This could be the indication for you to start trying because it’s the time when your body is ovulating. It may also be possible that after a D&C, your periods and ovulation time may get change. So, to avoid any confusion, tracking your body temperature is important. This will help you in getting pregnant after D&C.
Ovulation Test
Tracking your basal body temperature could be the easiest way to determine the ovulation period. But if this is not working and you are not successful in conceiving then you should go for ovulation test. This could be helpful in getting pregnant after D&C. This is a good way to determine the exact day or time when your body has ovulated. You need to purchase at least 10 ovulation predictor kits for a month. You need to start testing after 10th day till 20th day of your menstruation cycle. Start counting the day from the starting day of your periods. Ovulation test should not be done in morning hours, because the LH level or the test readings can fluctuate this time. The idle time to take an ovulation test is the afternoon timings. Some petty things should be kept in mind before doing ovulation test like you should not drink any water or any liquid for 3 to 4 hours before doing the test and do not go to washroom for urination for the same period. Once you get a positive response from your test, or once it shows that you have ovulated, you should try at that day as soon as possible. Generally, the period of 12 to 24 hours can be considered as an idle time to conceive.
